Colton Seber Fondren

Colton Tyler Scott Seber Fondren passed away on October 4, 2024, in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 26. Born on December 27, 1997, in Claremore, Oklahoma, Colton was the cherished son of Jara Evelyn. His early life was rooted in the warmth of his family and the vibrant community of Stroud, Oklahoma, where he excelled in sports and embraced his passion for debate.

Colton was baptized at Our Lady of Sorrow Catholic Church in Chandler, Oklahoma. He was an active participant in football, baseball, and basketball, embodying the spirit of teamwork and dedication. His love for debate continued long after his school days, reflecting his keen intellect and passion for discussion.

After attending Job Corps in Guthrie, Oklahoma, Colton ventured into the workforce, finding fulfillment in roles as a security guard and later working for Powers Tree Service and Monogram in Iowa. In May 2024, he returned to Stroud to join EnviroServe alongside his close friend, Trace, where he further solidified his bond with the community he loved.

Colton was known for his gentle spirit and compassionate heart. He devoted time to caring for his great-grandmother, Ma Dee, and great-aunt, Annie, showcasing his deep sense of family and responsibility. He found joy in fishing and cherished moments spent with friends, often enjoying a cold beverage while cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, Oklahoma Sooners, and WWE wrestling.

He is survived by his aunt, Janis Fuhs (Kevin “Kilo” Dresen) of Earling; cousin, Danielle Fuhs (Cody Schwery) of Earling, and their sons: Hudson and Tiller; close friends: Tyler Powers and Tanisha Mikels and their daughter Payton, Trace (Alex) Osborne and their children: Brenlee, Graycie, Braylen and Axel, Chris “Spliff” Gifford, Jeremy Hawkins, Frank Santiago Gomez, Brandon Renfrow and John Cushing; and many other family members and friends. 

Colton was preceded in death by his mother, Jara Evelyn; great-grandmother, Delores Seber; great-great-aunt, EmmaJean Sawyer; and uncle, Brandon Gorbet.

Colton’s Committal Service will take place at 10:30 a.m. in the Our Lady of Sorrow Catholic Cemetery in Chandler, Oklahoma and A Celebration of Life will follow from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Stroud, Oklahoma all on Saturday, October 19, 2024.

A Celebration of Life in Colton's honor will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Podunk Bar and Grill in Panama, Iowa.
