She attended country school east of Harlan, Iowa, and lived on the family farm with her parents. Edna lived with her parents until their deaths, then she went to live with her brother and sister-in-law, Lester and Goldie Hansen. She stayed with them until 1983, when she moved in with and cared for Mrs. Roy Larsen of Irwin, Iowa. She returned to Goldie’s home for a short time before becoming a resident of the Elm Crest Retirement Community in 1990.

Edna was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harlan, Iowa. She enjoyed doing word find puzzles and putting together jigsaw puzzles. Being around small children made her happy.

She is survived by two nieces and two nephews (who enjoyed having their Aunt Edna live with them during their childhood), Anita Hansen Bishop of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Adella Hansen of Pittsville, Maryland, Dale Hansen of Mount Holly Springs, Pennsylvania, and Calvin Hansen of Atlantic, Iowa. She is also survived by additional nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives and friends.
