Other Relatives & Friends

Our perfect in every way, sweet pea, baby boy, Jacob Raymond Rosmann was delivered on May 4th at 4:47 am. Devastatingly, we learned the day before that he had died and upon delivery, a true knot in his umbilical cord was revealed to be the reason. We were told that the cause of many stillbirths often are unknown so there is some mercy in having an explanation. We were also afforded the time to cry over him, talk to him, pray with him, and be together as parents with him.

We are heartbroken that our son will never have the life we wanted to share with him and that his two older sisters, Maggie and Ellie, will not be able to delight in and know their baby brother. We also grieve with his grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and so many other loved ones; even our kitty Cora.

We would like to acknowledge our care team at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha who have shown us compassion, empathy and expertise. Jacob’s maternal grandmother, Mary Tompkins, Certified Nurse Midwife, was with us and delivered him while simultaneously offering guidance and comfort in our emotional turmoil as she too mourns the loss of her grandson. All of our family’s support is precious and valuable and we thank them for taking care of us each in their own special ways.

The compassion and support our family has been given as we navigate and attempt to process this loss is remarkable. We are beyond grateful for our friends and community. We know we will grieve him forever because we love him always and along with our pain, we cry for anyone enduring loss. There truly are no words. Jacob, say hello to heaven.
