Other Relatives & Friends

Jason Corey Woodward, the son of Craig Allison Woodward and Pamela Jo (Frum) Woodward, was born on February 7, 1992, in Omaha, Nebraska. He attended AHST schools, and graduated with the class of 2010. While in school, Jason was active in sports, participating in cross country, soccer, wrestling, and was on the swim team. Following graduation, he entered the US Marine Corps; he served in Japan and Afghanistan before being stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Upon honorable discharge, Jason moved to Houston, Texas, where he had recently enrolled as a fulltime student at the Universal Technical Institute.

Jason’s favorite Bible verse was Isaiah 40:31: “But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed shooting and was an expert marksman. Jason also liked scuba diving and motorcycling. He was most certainly proud to wear his combat boots, but was happiest in his cowboy boots.

Jason C. Woodward died on Friday, August 28, 2015, as the result of a motorcycle accident in Houston, Texas; his tissues were donated to provide the gift of life to others. He had reached the age of 23 years, 6 months, and 21 days.

Jason is survived by his mother, Pam Woodward of Shelby, Iowa; father, Craig Woodward of Council Bluffs, Iowa; maternal grandparents, Steve (Joan) Frum of Shelby, Iowa; paternal grandparents, Joe (June) Woodward of Sioux City, Iowa; two sisters, Caydee Woodward (friend, Nathan Tibbets) of Exira, Iowa, and Samantha Woodward of Shelby, Iowa; one nephew, Ezra Woodward-Arriaga of Shelby, Iowa; and other relatives and friends.

The funeral service was held on Friday, September 4, 2015, at the United Methodist Church in Shelby, Iowa, with Steve Kiesel of the First Presbyterian Church in Shelby officiating. Carmen White served as the pianist. Casket bearers were Jim Ptacek, Hunter Frum, Jordan Frum, Brent Kiesel, Wyatt Facile, Sean Keleher, Conner Keleher, Dillon Frum, Quinn Keleher, Josh Zimmerman, Brady Frum, and Evan Schroeder.
