A loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt, Joyce M. Boettger, age 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at Myrtue Medical Center, Harlan, Iowa. Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Bua, Jr., to whom she was married on May 2, 1959. On February 14, 2001, Joyce wed William Boettger, and they were married 12 years. Joyce was born in Avoca, Iowa, on January 6, 1934, to the late Harold and Maren Nielsen.

Joyce was the mother of three children: Angelina Bua and her husband Ron Spear of Rockford, Illinois, Joseph Bua and his wife Jean, of Franklin, Massachusetts, and Gina LeMay and her husband Jason, of Nashua, New Hampshire. Joyce also leaves behind four grandchildren: Jourdan and Jolie Bua of Franklin, Massachusetts, and Patrick and Paige LeMay of Nashua, New Hampshire.

It being her wish, a private gathering will be held at a later date at Graceland Cemetery in Avoca, Iowa. For those that wish, donations may be made to the Myrtue Medical Center Hospice, c/o Myrtue Medical Center, 1213 Garfield Avenue, Harlan, IA 51537.
