Mr. Keith Lee Johnson, age 69, of Pilot Mountain, NC, died Sunday, November 20, 2011 at his home after a lengthy journey with alzheimers. He was born March 1, 1942 in Los Angeles, CA to the late Keith Deen Johnson and Bernice Irene (Pedersen) Johnson of Harlan, Iowa. Mr. Johnson was a retired electrical engineer from General Electric in Schenectady, New York where he worked for over 30 years. He is survived by his daughters: Stephanie C. Johnson and husband Franklin J. Nichols of Pilot Mountain, NC and Kimberly M. Lewis and husband Robert J. Lewis of Burnt Hills, NY; grandchildren: Jenna Nichols and Nicholas Johnson and nephew: Hylon Theron Plumb IV and wife Anita Pilkerton-Plumb of Lancaster, PA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his sister, Cheryl J. Plumb. There will be no formal services in North Carolina. Burial will be held at a later date in Harlan, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215. Howell-Nelson Funeral Service of Pilot Mountain is serving the family.
