Sheresa Hampton

Sheresa Marie Hampton was born on April 26, 1963, the daughter of John and Betty (Fries) Jenni in Harlan, Iowa. She received her education from Harlan Community Schools and graduated with the Class of 1982.

Throughout her life, Sheresa worked at various places in the area, dedicating much of her career to healthcare. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Baptist Memorial Home before making her career with REM in Shelby, where she served as a Direct Support Professional.

Sheresa was a talented billiards player and earned numerous awards and trophies over the years, including a fourth-place finish in the Iowa Women’s Division. In her free time, she enjoyed drawing and traveling, both throughout the United States and to tropical destinations, especially Jamaica and Mexico. She cherished spending time with her loved ones and enjoyed gathering with family.

Sheresa passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, Iowa at the age of 63 years, five months and 11 days. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her four children: Stephanie Hampton (Brandon) of Harlan, Kristina Hampton of Council Bluffs, Trentity (Trista) Hampton of Omaha and Garrett Hampton of Cartersville, Georgia; grandchildren: Dominique, Kalen, Jonathan, Braxton, Rilee, Alexis, Abel, Brinley, Lyra, Sybil, Elsie, Madilee and Trevor; great-grandchildren: Carson, Connor, Xavyer, Maverick and Raelynn; and other family members and many friends.

Her wishes were to be cremated and her family will hold her Celebration of Life at a later date.
