Victor James Conrad, the son of James and Marion Ruth (Fox) Conrad, was born on October 7, 1949, in Harlan, Iowa. He graduated from Harlan High School in 1968. Following graduation, Victor served in the United States Army in Vietnam. After his discharge, he began his career in truck driving, mostly within the road construction industry. Most recently, Victor had driven for Western Engineering in Harlan, Iowa.

On July 11, 1973, Victor married Alice Marie Fiebelkorn in Harlan, and the couple made their home in Harlan.

In his spare time, Victor enjoyed collecting guns as well as gunsmithing.

Victor J. Conrad died on Friday, July 3, 2015, at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, Iowa. He had reached the age of 65 years, 8 months, and 26 days.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Alice Marie Conrad, on March 23, 2013. He is survived by two sons, John (Rhonda) Fiebelkorn of Harlan, Iowa, and James Conrad (special friend, Chrystal) of Harlan, Iowa; one daughter, Sheila Conrad (special friend, Josh) of Kimballton, Iowa; four brothers, Ray Petersen (special friend, Judy Pyles) of Waldron, Arkansas, Rodger Petersen of Harlan, Iowa, Tim Conrad of Harlan, Iowa, and Kim Conrad of Las Vegas, Nevada; four sisters, Cindy (Charles) Allmon of Harlan, Iowa, Judy (Dean) Allmon of Manilla, Iowa, Brenda Conrad of Harlan, Iowa, and Colleen (James) Thompson of Glenwood, Iowa; five grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

The memorial service was held on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at the Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in Harlan, Iowa, with Rev. Al Hazelton of the First Assembly of God in Harlan, Iowa, officiating. Burial of ashes will be held at a later date. The Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in Harlan, Iowa, was in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be left online at www.burmeisterjohannsen.com.
